What is Shoot Many Robots?

Shoot Many Robots is a cooperative shooter similar to Contra. You and some pals run around on a 2D plane and blow bad robots to pieces.

Are there RPG elements? I like RPG elements.

There are! As you shoot robots you earn money that can be spent on hundreds of weapons and items. Not only does this stuff alter your appearance, much of it will enhance your abilities or boost your stats.

What’s the craziest thing I can buy?

Probably the Fruit F*cker. It’s a tiny robot that stands on your shoulders and humps your head. For the emotional trauma it causes you’ll receive a boost to your bullet — wait for it — penetration.

Is the co-op online or offline?

It’s four-player online and offline co-op.

Are there any other modes?

There is also a survival mode where you face off against wave after wave of robots.

Who the hell is developer Demiurge Studios?

Demiurge has been making games for nearly a decade, but its work has largely been focused on being the “creative and technical muscle” that works with other studios for games such as Borderlands and Rock Band. Shoot Many Robots is Demiurge’s first original game, but a studio representative said that he hopes “the 2011 release isn’t the only Shoot Many Robots game, let alone the only original Demiurge game.”
